Hauser and Wirth 2

Last Friday was spent running the ’Traces of Nature’ workshop at Hauser and Wirth in Somerset. An appropriate and truly inspirational setting in which to hold an environmentally minded textile course. 

The focus was to draw inspiration from the ‘Oudolf Field’ and surrounding countryside to create sustainable textile outcomes. The fabulous group, who were all passionate about the environment, absorbed new skills and techniques which should lead them on to further exciting developments.

Ao's Emma who led the inspiring day explained, 'we worked with layering eco print, natural dyeing and suminagashi marbling onto various natural and recycled fabrics. The results were stunning!'
