ao textiles' Penny is an active member of Art Workers Guild and regularly shares her knowledge through demonstrations and workshops.  In her Spring 2022 masterclass she explored NATURAL DYES SOURCED FROM LOCAL PLANTS.  In keeping with the Art Workers Guild tradition of 'learning by doing' the workshop was open to all members regardless of their textile experience. Informed by Penny’s ongoing research for ao textiles and commitment to the transformative colour that can be obtained from humble dye plants such as  woad, indigo, madder, buckthorn berries and walnut. Using ecologically sound, non-toxic dyes sourced from local plants and traditional dye plants, Penny demonstrated the practical application of natural dyes.
